New Vacation Destination

While we were in Chicago recently, I introduced the kids to this delightful pond on the U of C campus.
They loved it, and insisted on making several trips. I was happy to oblige, as it's one of my favorite spots.

QuayQuay brought along some bread to feed the ducks and turtles.

If you look carefully at the above picture, you'll get a little foreshadowing of things to come. See MungBean creeping along the edge of the pond...

Yep, big surprise, he fell in. It was pretty funny. And pretty gross. He still talks about the day he fell in the pond, and also likes to re-enact the big event, with tub toys mostly, but my favorite reenactment was when he dropped a piece of banana in his cup of OJ and announced that his banana fell in the pond!

That pond is beautiful. That creeping posture of MungBean in that picture is killing me, so funny.

SPLASH! Oh, I just can't help but be SOOOOOOO glad that that happened the way your did! Hooray for catching the predator before his head-on collision with fate! I think I am going to go make some strawberries fall in a chocolate "pond" in honor of MB. I can't wait for our first book signing in Chicago. Promise you will show me where I can fall in too?

oh that is so sad and adorable all at the same time and I love how you actually caught the creeping on camera.
