At a recent dentist visit we discovered that Quay had an abcess under a tooth, and so it had to be removed. Check this thing out...
Gross. Quay was an awesome trooper through the whole thing. The hardest part of the whole process was getting her to take it easy after the extraction so she wouldn't start bleeding again. Here's her account of the procedure, as she wrote in a letter to the Tooth Fairy:
Dear Tooth Fairy, I got a tooth pulled out. It got pulled out by a dentist. First, she put funny juice and it pinched my gum it didn't tickle it. Second, she took something sharp and dug into my tooth. Third, she took a pair of plires and wiggled my tooth out. Finally, she put it in the blue box and gave it to me. I hope you travle safely. Love Quay.
I was probably more anxious than Quay was about the whole process (having just had my wisdom teeth out) but everything went smoothly and she's doing great. Now if only we could get her to lose teeth with less drama and craziness!

Wow, she sounds very brave. I had to pull out a tooth from Theron that was wedged behind the new tooth that was already coming in. It was not pleasant, but the only other option was a $50 extraction, so I used my muscles and held that kid down and wrenched it out of his head. Worst tooth experience ever!
Good girl. She is adorable. That sounds like an awful ordeal. That tooth is gnarly.
I thought I was mean holding my kids down and popping their zits! I haven't attempted an extraction yet. I guess I might if $50 was on the line. :)
Shudder shudder reading this post made my phantom dental pains start again. It's so great that she did so well!
That is a BUGGER! Go Quay. I think I prefer "general funny juice" to the stuff that leaves you concious at the dentist.
