Fudden

Blogger is making me crazy today, so these pictures are just going to be all out of order. Here is MungBean taking a nap in the family room, completely worn out after his sister's birthday party:

In addition to all the excitement of celebrating a birthday, we also got some unanticipated news... It turns out our back fence isn't lined up with the edge of our property. There's a big no-man's-land between our fence and the neighbor's fence. Except it's not no-man's... it's ours! So Munkus knocked out a piece of the fence to check things out. It's steeply sloped and filled with towering weeds. We have no idea what we will do about it. But it's ours. Here is MungBean showing it off:
And now, the reason I began this post: Yesterday was Quay's birthday! She's seven! That's so big, I just can't believe it!

We had a morning pajama party with a bunch of friends from the neighborhood/Church/school. (For the first time, that wasn't all the same group of people!) Everyone decorated their own pillowcase: And then they mixed up their own personalized mix of popcorn, marshmallows, pretzels, and candy in a little bag to take home for a "midnight snack." Are you feeling the theme? Fun, huh?

Then we played some more bedtime themed games, including this silly dress-up game:

And rounded it out with banana cream pie and ice cream. (Quay didn't want a cake, she wanted pie. Ha! She is my daughter after all!)

She received some really fabulous gifts, including several additions to the ever-growing giraffe collection. Awesome! And last of all before bed, we admired the extra big & bright full moon which was at its closest point to the earth. A fun astronomical phenomenon to finish a fun day!
And bringing it back to the top, a word about the title of this post. When Babs was little she couldn't pronounce "seven," she said "fudden." So it was a wonderful day celebrating Quay turning fudden!
