Vain Repetitions

Another one of those stories of me trying to maintain a reverent attitude in the midst of MungBean being his cute self...

The other morning I asked Mung to offer the breakfast prayer. He insisted that he needed help, and since I didn't think he did and I'm tired of doing line by line prompts of his prayers, I took an alternate approach. Before letting him begin the prayer I reviewed the necessary elements and then told him to go ahead and do it on his own. So he did, and this is how it went:

"Dear Heavenly Father. Check.
Thank thee for the food. Check.
Please bless the food. Check.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Check."

The girls and I had a hard time keeping our giggles muffled. I'd like to think a loving Father in Heaven was also chuckling a little too.
