Day one in the Windy City was a trip to Taste of Chicago, the annual food festival. Delicious! My favorite was a grilled garlic lobster tail. Mmmmm! We also ate boneless bbq rib sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, mozzarella sticks, toasted ravioli, garlic shrimp, deep fried artichokes, funnel cakes, crawfish boil, corn on the cob, cannoli, watermelon italian ice, cherry italian ice, and rainbow ice cream cones: 5 scoops in a waffle cone! It was all soooooo good! And we are all soooooo exhausted!

The trip so far...
We made it to Chicago! The trip started a little rough. The day before we were going to leave, Babs woke up with pneumonia. For those of you keeping track, yes that was the morning of her big recital. She was able to perform and did a great job, but was definitely still sick the next morning when we hit the road. In fact, before we even stopped for breakfast Sunday morning, both Babs and MungBean threw up in the car. Nice. Then, between breakfast and lunch Babs also had a bloody nose. The good news for the morning, though, was that we were able to fill in more than half of our US map with the license plates we saw. In fact, by the time we pulled into Chicago, we'd seen all of the Continental US license plates but 4. Pretty impressive. Maybe these high gas prices aren't keeping people home after all.

Wow, sounds like you got there on the right day!
You are sooo lucky. The trip there sounds amazing. At least it makes it a more exciting post.
Really you could just keep talking about the food and that would be great. That DOES sound amazing. You ARE so lucky.
Okay, the food sounds awesome! I hope you are having a great time!
