The kids and I were riding in the car recently and Quay wasn't thrilled about the situation. I was pointing out interesting sights to get her mind off her sadness. It's always a thrill to see construction vehicles at work, so I was really excited as I began the following conversation:
Me: Look guys! A crane!
Quay: Where?
Me: Right there!
Quay: Where? I don't see it!
Me: (starting to get frustrated) Right there, Quay. The crane right in front of us. See it? It's digging!
Quay: I don't see it!
Me: How can you not see it? It's right there!!!
Quay: (at the top of her lungs, and if you know QuayQuay you know what this sounded like) That is NOT a crane! That is a TRACK HOE!!!!

haha! That's too funny. And just wait, you'll enter a whole new phase of vocabulary as your boy gets bigger! (hint: there are more types of "tractors" than you ever imagined!)

I'm glad she could teach you a little something. Now you know what a real crane is.

That is so funny! I wouldn't know the difference.
so funny. reminds me of something sawyer would say. I'm grateful that you now know what a crane is and that I don't have to blog stalk you anymore! :)
In my defense, I really do know the difference, it was just a slip of the tongue. But she is still probably smarter than me.
Schooled by the first grader again. Darn it!
Too funny. She can't help herself, it is in her blood. LOL
