I've had these pictures hanging out in the computer for a long time and I just printed them out yesterday to scrapbook them because I just love them. But the problem is that I can't think of what to write on the scrapbook page. There's no particular story, Quay was just so excited to see the flag that she ran out to check it out. So this is a call for help... please leave comments with your suggestions for a title for what promises to be a very cute page! Thanks!!!

goodness, I'm no good at these scrapbook things. But how about you just make up a good story about how she is feeling oh, so patriotic? Maybe?
Sorry, I'm no help.
Yeah, that's the problem... coming up with something patriotic to say. Not that I don't love my country, but I'm not usually prone to gushing about how great America is. Come on folks, I know someone out there can come up with something good for me...
My apologies for lurking.... Opa and I have both been your husband ****'s seminary teachers, and we live down the street from your inlaws, so I hope that qualifies me. I love your blog, btw, it is wonderful! Anyway, there is a precious little song from Brite Music that I remember from when my kids were little. Those pictures look an awful lot like the lyrics sound:
See it standing there, that's my flag!
Waving in the air, that's my flag!
'Cause I live in America, and that's my flag!
See it wave to me, that's my flag!
Telling us we're free, that's my flag!
How proud, how grand, how tall it stands!
That's my flag!
Best wishes to your adorable family,
Merry Cowart
I've been mulling this over for a long time. I'm not a big patriotic-type either which is probably why I don't see Quay getting excited about the good old USA. Instead I think the pic's capture the essence of being a child. She seems certain there is magic nearby (was the flag planted there by elves? is it a portal to another world?). Kids feel that excitement from the simplest things: a hot-air balloon, the season's first snow, a rainbow or a flag etc. A tricky concept to summarize. When in doubt just ask Quay. She's bound to have a cute quote for a scrapbook page.
What great suggestions! Thanks guys!
